What is GDPR?

The GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) is the most important development of Data Protection Law for decades. It will strengthen and ultimately replace the existing Data Protection Act (1998) and is designed to protect the personal data and privacy of citizens across Europe. GDPR will not be affected by the UK’s exit from the EU and the Regulation comes fully into effect on 25 May 2018.

Who are we?

Broadway Financial Services are accountants registered with the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT). We are based at 27 Fasson Close, Tamworth, Staffordshire B77 1GJ.

We obtain information about you when you when you become a customer of ours and during the period you remain a customer of ours.

What type of information is collected from you?

The personal information we collect includes your name, address, email addresses, contact numbers, business interests, date of birth, gender, nationality, tax reference information, financial information.

 

How is your information used?

We use your information to undertake the accounting taxation, payroll, VAT, bookkeeping, company secretarial or the services that you have requested from us. This may include, but is not limited to:

  • Preparing accounts
  • Preparing tax returns
  • Payroll preparation
  • VAT and bookkeeping
  • We review our retention periods for personal information on a regular basis. We are legally required to hold some types of information to fulfil our statutory obligations. We will hold your personal information on our systems for as long as is necessary for the relevant activity, or as long as is set out in any relevant contract you hold with us.

We work closely with various third-party service providers to bring you a range of services.

When you enquire about such services we will pass your contact details to the third party to enable them to contact you.

Should you enter a contract with them they will be acting as a data controller of your information and therefore we advise you to read their privacy policy.  If they share information with us we will use it in line with our own privacy policy.

We will not contact you for marketing purposes by email, phone or text message unless you have given your prior consent. We will not contact you for marketing purposes by post if you have indicated that you do not wish to be contacted. You can change your marketing preferences at any time by contacting us.

The accuracy of your information is important to us. If you change your information, please contact us so that we can keep you details up to date.

You have the right to ask for a copy of the information we hold about you (we may charge £10 for information requests) to cover our costs in providing you with details of the information we hold about you.

When you give us personal information, we take steps to ensure that it’s treated securely. Any sensitive information we hold is held on encrypted devices
